Byalynitsky-Birulya Vitold Kaetanovich

Vitold Kaetanovich Byalynitsky-Birulya (1872–1957) was a Soviet landscape painter, People's Artist of the BSSR (1944) and the RSFSR (1947), and a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1947). He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under V. D. Polenov, I. M. Pryanishnikov, and S. A. Korovin. He was a member of the Peredvizhniki (Itinerants), the Union of Russian Artists, and the AKhRR. He continued and developed the traditions of late 19th-century Russian lyrical landscape painting. He is known for his landscape series of Gorki Leninskiye, Yasnaya Polyana, and the Tchaikovsky estate in Klin. His works are held in the Tretyakov Gallery collection.
