Volkov Adrian Markovich
1829 — 1873
Adrian Markovich Volkov was a genre painter. He was educated at the Imperial Academy of Arts under Professor F. A. Bruni. Initially trained as a historical painter, he later shifted his focus to genre scenes of everyday life. In 1858, he was awarded the title of Class Artist and a small gold medal for his painting "The Glutton Row in St. Petersburg." In 1860, he received a gold medal for his work "The Interrupted Engagement," awarded for excellence in expression. In addition to oil painting, he worked extensively in watercolor.
