Shurpin Fedor Savvich
1904 — 1972
Fedor Savvich Shurpin (1904–?) was a painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, and a laureate of the USSR State Prize. He studied at the Workers' Faculty of Arts (from 1923) and the painting faculty of Vkhutein (1925–1930). In his work, he focused on peasant themes, creating historical and genre compositions, portraits, and landscapes. In 1969, an art gallery was established in the settlement of Shumyachi, based on a collection of paintings donated by the artist. His works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery and regional museums.
