Nesterenko Vasily Igorevich

Vasily Igorevich Nesterenko (born 1967, Pavlograd) is a painter and People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He graduated from the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute (T. T. Salakhov's studio). He made a significant contribution to the restoration of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, executing a number of monumental murals and icons. He also created new murals for the Assumption Cathedral in Dmitrov and the iconostasis for the Church of the Millennium of the Baptism of Rus in Tsaritsyno. His works are held in major museum collections in Russia and abroad; he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Russia, Europe, and the USA.
