Malyavin Filipp Andreyevich
1869 — 1940
Filipp Andreyevich Malyavin (1869–1940) was a painter known for his genre scenes of peasant life. He trained at an icon-painting workshop on Mount Athos and at the Imperial Academy of Arts under I. E. Repin. In 1900, he was awarded a Grand Gold Medal at the World Exhibition in Paris for his painting 'Laughter'. He became an academician in 1906. He lived abroad from 1922.
