Gordon Grigory Meerovich

Grigory Meerovich Gordon (1909–1993) was a Soviet painter and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1938. He headed the party organization of the painting section of the Moscow Union of Soviet Artists (MOSSKh). He is known as a master of portraiture, landscape, and still life. Notable works include the series 'Fishermen of the Azov' (1936) and the painting 'Poets of the Revolutionary Years' (1964). He was awarded certificates of honor by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and the Moscow Union of Artists of the RSFSR. His works are held in museums in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as in private collections in Russia, England, and the USA.
