Gorbunov Yuri Vasilyevich

Yuri Vasilyevich Gorbunov is a Soviet painter, graphic artist, muralist, and theater designer. He graduated from the Kostroma Art School (1948–1958) and the Kharkiv Art Institute (1958–1964) under Professor B. V. Kosarev. He has lived and worked in Kostroma since 1938. He worked as a designer for the Kostroma Drama Theater and created several monumental murals and panels in Kostroma. He taught at the Faculty of Art and Graphics at Kostroma University and served as the executive secretary of the Kostroma branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. His work is characterized by historical accuracy and a rich palette, spanning portraiture, landscape, still life, and historical painting.
