Arkhipov Abram Yefimovich

1862 — 1930
Abram Yefimovich Arkhipov (1862–1930) was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1927), and full member of the Academy of Arts. He studied at the MSPSA under V. G. Perov and V. D. Polenov. He was a member of the Peredvizhniki (Wanderers) and the Union of Russian Artists. He is known for his genre scenes of peasant life, lyrical landscapes, and portraits. He taught at the MSPSA and Vkhutemas; his students included A. M. Gerasimov and B. V. Ioganson.
