Zharkov Pyotr Gerasimovich

Pyotr Gerasimovich Zharkov (1742–1802) was a miniature painter, portraitist, and educator. He studied under A. P. Antropov and at the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1777, he became an academician for his work in enamel painting. From 1779 to 1798, he taught at the Academy of Arts, heading the classes of miniature painting and enamel painting. He served as a counselor of the Academy of Arts starting in 1785.
