Vasnetsov Viktor Mikhailovich

Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov was a painter, author of epic canvases based on folk tales and epics, genre paintings, portraits, landscapes, church murals, as well as theatrical sketches and architectural projects. He also worked in the field of applied arts. He studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts under I. N. Kramskoy (1867–1868) and at the Academy of Arts under P. V. Basin, V. P. Vereshchagin, and P. P. Chistyakov (1868–1875). He was a member of the TPHV (1878–1897) and a full member of the Academy of Arts (since 1893, resigned in 1905).
