Vasnetsov Andrey Vladimirovich

Andrey Vladimirovich Vasnetsov (1924–2009) was a monumental artist and painter, and one of the founders of the "Severe Style." He was a People's Artist of the USSR, a laureate of the USSR State Prize, and a recipient of the President of the Russian Federation Prize. He was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. His artistic career began in the 1950s. His paintings, characterized by romantic asceticism, strict color palettes, and precise composition, brought a spirit of drama to Soviet art, standing in contrast to the official aesthetics of the time.
