Kopeyko Yury Vasilyevich

Yury Vasilyevich Kopeyko (1933–2010) was a Soviet and Russian graphic artist and painter, People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School (1954) and the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (1959), where he studied under A. D. Goncharov, P. G. Zakharov, and G. M. Goroshenko. He is known for his illustrations for books by A. Mityaev and A. I. Kuprin. He received numerous awards, including the M. B. Grekov Silver Medal (1987), the V. A. Favorsky Prize (1990), the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2003), the Order of Honor (2005), and the Order of Peter the Great, 1st Class (2006).
