Chainikov Grigory Leontyevich

Grigory Leontyevich Chainikov (1960–2008) was a Russian painter, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia (1988), and a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2001). He was an Honored Artist of the Udmurt Republic. He graduated from the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute in 1987 (under V. G. Tsyplakov). From 1988 to 1991, he worked in the Creative Workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts under A. P. and S. P. Tkachev. His work is noted for portraits and interiors characterized by restrained tonality and simple composition. He was a regular participant in exhibitions, including international ones, and the Sotheby's auction.
