Yuon Konstantin Fyodorovich

Konstantin Fyodorovich Yuon was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR (1950), and a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1947). He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1892–1898) under K. A. Savitsky, A. E. Arkhipov, and N. A. Kasatkin. He was a member of the 'World of Art' movement and a co-founder of the Union of Russian Artists. His work often featured motifs of the Russian provinces, blending an impressionistic style with architectural landscapes. During the Soviet era, he focused on historical-revolutionary themes and scenes of Soviet life. He was also active in theater design, graphic arts, and teaching. He was a laureate of the USSR State Prize (1943).
