Terlemezyan Fanos Pogosovich

Fanos Pogosovich Terlemezyan was a Soviet painter and People's Artist of the Armenian SSR (1935). He studied at the School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in St. Petersburg (1895–1897) and the Académie Julian in Paris (1899–1904). He was a member of the Armenian branch of the AKhRR. His work, influenced by Impressionism, is dominated by landscapes characterized by subtle chiaroscuro and restrained coloring. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
