Nechitaylo Vasily Kirillovich

Vasily Kirillovich Nechitaylo was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1965), and a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1973). He graduated from the Moscow Art Institute (1936–1942), where he studied under S. V. Gerasimov. He worked in portraiture and genre painting. Notable works include 'To the Partisan Detachment' (1945), the series 'Collective Farm Youth,' 'Ryazan Livestock Breeders,' 'Kuban Agricultural Leaders,' as well as the paintings 'On Red Square' (1961–1964) and 'For Soviet Power!' (1966–1970). He was a laureate of the I. E. Repin State Prize of the RSFSR (1971).
