Vasiliev Fyodor Alexandrovich

Fyodor Alexandrovich Vasiliev (1850–1873) was a painter and master of realistic landscape, known for works such as "After the Storm," "Thaw," and "Wet Meadow." From 1863 to 1867, he studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. Starting in 1866, he studied under I. I. Shishkin, and in 1871, he became a non-matriculated student at the Academy of Arts. In 1872, he received the title of first-degree artist for his paintings "Approach of a Storm" and "View on the Volga." He was a prize-winner of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts for "Thaw" (1871) and "In the Crimean Mountains" (1873). From 1873, he was an honorary free associate of the Academy of Arts.
