Schmidt Georg Friedrich

Georg Friedrich Schmidt (1712–1775) was a German engraver known for his portraits based on the originals of Western European masters. From 1757 to 1762, he worked in Russia, becoming the first head of the engraving class at the Academy of Arts. He was a member of the Paris and Berlin Academies of Arts.
