Shillingovsky Pavel Alexandrovich

Pavel Alexandrovich Shillingovsky was a graphic artist and painter. He studied at the Odessa Art School (1895–1900) and the Higher Art School under the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg under D. N. Kardovsky and V. V. Mate. From 1921 to 1929, he headed the printing department at Vkhutemas in Leningrad, and from 1934 to 1941, he taught at the I. E. Repin Institute. He was awarded the title of professor in 1939 and a doctorate in art history in 1941. He worked in easel and book graphics, as well as painting.
