Shepelev Lev Viktorovich

Lev Viktorovich Shepelev is a graphic artist, a master of urban landscape, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, and a professor. In 1961, he graduated from the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (E. A. Kibrik's studio). In the mid-1960s, he created a series of graphic works dedicated to new Moscow residential developments. He works in gouache, characterized by effective compositional structure and an exquisite color palette. Major works include: "Vilnius. White Sun" (1971), "Vyborg Side" (1985), as well as the series "Suomi. Finland" (1977–1979), "The City That Withstood" (1984–1985), and others.
