Sandyrev Ivan Tarasovich

Ivan Tarasovich Sandyrev (1932–2002) was a Merited Artist of the RSFSR and a master of monumental painting, landscape, and still life. He graduated from the Surikov Moscow Art Institute (A. A. Deineka's studio). His work evolved from the 'severe style' to the creation of philosophical, symbolic compositions. His works are characterized by decorativeness, balanced rhythms, and monumental imagery. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. His works are held in major museum collections and private collections worldwide.
