Safargalin Askhat Gazizulinovich

Askhat Gazizulinovich Safargalin (1922–1975) was a painter, Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. He studied at the Kazan Art School (1938–1941, 1945–1947) and the Kharkiv Art Institute (1947–1953) under A. Kokel, P. Kotov, M. Rybalchenko, and L. Chernov. He worked in the field of easel painting and was a master of genre scenes. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kharkiv in 1954 and 1977. His works are held in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, as well as in various regional museums and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Japan, Canada, and Italy.
