Rudakov Konstantin Ivanovich

1891 — 1949
Konstantin Ivanovich Rudakov was a Russian graphic artist and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From 1910 to 1912, he studied in private studios under V. E. Savinsky, B. M. Kustodiev, and M. V. Dobuzhinsky, graduating from VKhUTEIN in 1922 (workshop of D. N. Kardovsky). He began teaching in Leningrad art institutions in 1929 and became a professor in 1937. He is known as an illustrator of classical literature (A. S. Pushkin, Guy de Maupassant, R. Rolland), as well as an author of watercolor portraits and theatrical sketches. During the Great Patriotic War, he created monumental panels for Leningrad and portraits of air defense fighters. He was awarded medals of the USSR.
