Modorov Nikolai Nikolaevich
1927 — 1989
Nikolai Nikolaevich Modorov (1927–1989) was a painter, a representative of the Vladimir school of painting, and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1965). In 1951, he graduated from the Mstera Art School, and in 1957, from the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry named after V. I. Mukhina. His work is characterized by a fusion of contemporary emotion and the decorative traditions of the Vladimir school, expanding the genre boundaries of landscape painting to include industrial themes. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Italy, Japan, Finland, Canada, Poland, Austria, Belgium, the UK, Switzerland, Spain, and Chile. His works are held in the collections of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve, the Bryansk Art Museum, the Leonardo da Vinci National Gallery in Milan, and other collections.
