Klever Julius Yulyevich

Julius Sergius von Klever (1850–1924) was a landscape painter. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in the architectural (1867–1868) and landscape (1868–1870) departments under S. M. Vorobyov and M. K. Klodt. In 1876, he received the title of Class Artist of the 1st degree for his paintings "Winter" and "First Snow on a Ploughed Field." He became an Academician in 1878 for the painting "Neglected Old Park" and was named a professor in 1881 for the painting "Forest." In 1886, he was awarded a gold medal at an exhibition in Berlin.
