Ivanov Andrey Ivanovich

Andrey Ivanovich Ivanov was a painter, educator, and master of historical painting. From 1782 to 1797, he studied at the Academy of Arts under G. I. Ugryumov. In 1797, he received a large gold medal and the title of class artist for his painting 'Noah Offering Sacrifice to God After Leaving the Ark.' He became an Academician in 1803 and a professor in 1812 for his painting 'The Single Combat of Prince Mstislav the Bold with the Kasogian Prince Rededya.' In early 1831, he was dismissed from the Academy of Arts by the personal order of Nicholas I.
