Khudyakov Vasily Grigoryevich
1825 — 1871
Vasily Grigoryevich Khudyakov (1825–1871) was a historical, portrait, and genre painter. He studied at the Stroganov School and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under F. S. Zavyalov. He was awarded the Large Silver Medal for works submitted to the Academy of Arts. In 1851, he received the title of academician for his portrait of the Academy rector, A. I. Melnikov. Between 1856 and 1859, he traveled to France and Italy. In 1860, he was named a professor at the Academy of Arts. His works are held in major national museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
