Andrey Petrovich Gorsky (born 1926) is a Soviet and Russian painter and a member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. He graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School (1946) and the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (1952). His work is characterized by historical themes, depictions of the Russian provinces, and portraits of contemporaries. Gorsky has been actively involved in public life, having served for many years as the head of the commission for the protection of historical and cultural monuments and the exhibition commission of the Moscow Union of Artists. His works are held in the Tretyakov Gallery and museum collections in Russia, Italy, Japan, the USA, and France.
