Gorokhovsky Eduard Semyonovich

Eduard Semyonovich Gorokhovsky (1929–2004) was a classic of Moscow conceptualism and a founder of Russian 'photo-based art'. An architect by training, he graduated from the Odessa Civil Engineering Institute (1954). From 1956, he dedicated himself to easel graphics. In the 1970s, he joined the circle of Moscow conceptualists (the 'Sretensky Boulevard' group). From 1991, he lived and worked in Germany. His works are held in the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and numerous private collections.
