Flavitsky Konstantin Dmitrievich

Konstantin Dmitrievich Flavitsky was a painter of historical and biblical subjects. He studied at the Academy of Arts under F. A. Bruni (1850–1855). In 1855, he received a large gold medal and the title of class artist of the 3rd degree for his painting "Jacob's Sons Selling Their Brother Joseph." From 1856 to 1861, he was an Academy pensioner in Italy and Germany. From 1863, he was an honorary free member of the Academy for the painting "Christian Martyrs in the Colosseum." From 1864, he was a professor for the painting "Princess Tarakanova."
