Filatchev Oleg Pavlovich

Oleg Pavlovich Filatchev was a monumental painter and corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. He graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry (1964), where he studied under N. Kh. Maksimov, S. V. Gerasimov, and V. I. Kozlinsky. From 1968 to 1971, he worked in the creative studio of the Academy of Arts of the USSR under G. M. Korzhev. He taught at the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry (1964–1968) and became an associate professor in 1981. He was an author of monumental works in tempera on gesso, thematic paintings, portraits, and graphic works. He was a laureate of the Moscow Komsomol Prize (1973), the silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1972), and the International Painting Biennale Prize in Czechoslovakia (1978). He was awarded the Medal "For Labor Distinction."
