Chernetsov Nikanor Grigoryevich

1805 — 1879
Nikanor Grigoryevich Chernetsov was a landscape painter and lithographer. He studied at the Academy of Arts from 1823 to 1830 under M. N. Vorobyov. In 1827, he was named a class artist, and in 1830, he was awarded a large gold medal for his painting "View of Kadriorg in Reval." In 1832, he received the title of academician and a gold medal from the Society for the Encouragement of Artists for the painting "View of Tiflis." He traveled throughout the Caucasus and Crimea. From 1837, he worked alongside his brother.
