Volodin Mikhail Filippovich

1912 — 1987
Mikhail Filippovich Volodin (1912–1987) was a painter. He studied at the preparatory classes of the Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1934–1938) and at the Surikov Moscow State Institute of Art (1938–1947) under S. V. Gerasimov, A. A. Osmerkin, and I. I. Chekmazov. In 1941, he volunteered for the people's militia, and in 1945, he participated in the rescue of the Dresden Picture Gallery. He began exhibiting in 1948. The artist's lyrical landscapes were showcased at international sales exhibitions and are held in private collections in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and other countries, as well as in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery and other Russian museums.
