Neprintsev Yury Mikhailovich

Yury Mikhailovich Neprintsev (born 1909, Tbilisi) is a Soviet painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the USSR (1965), and full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1970). He studied at the Leningrad Academy of Arts under I. I. Brodsky. From 1948, he taught at the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He is known for his genre paintings and etchings dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, notably the 'Leningraders' series (1960–1967). Significant works include 'Rest After Battle' (1951, awarded the USSR State Prize) and 'Hello, Leningrad!' (1947).
