Nalbandyan Dmitry Arkadyevich

Dmitry Arkadyevich Nalbandyan (1906–1993) was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR (1969), and full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1953). He studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts (1924–1929) under E. E. Lanceray and E. Tatevosyan. He was the author of historical paintings, portraits, and landscapes, including 'S. M. Kirov's Speech at the 17th Party Congress' and a portrait of I. V. Stalin (USSR State Prize, 1946). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
