Kostetsky Vladimir Nikolaevich

1905 — 1968
Vladimir Nikolaevich Kostetsky (1905–1968) was a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960), and Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1967). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (1922–1928), where he studied under F. G. Krichevsky; he taught there from 1937 (becoming a professor in 1947). He worked primarily in genre painting. During the Great Patriotic War, he created posters, leaflets, and portrait drawings. His works (such as "Interrogation of the Enemy," "The Return," and "Presentation of the Party Card") are noted for their psychological depth and narrative detail. He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and several medals.
