Khandjyan Grigor Sepukhovich

Grigor Sepukhovich Khandjyan (born 1926) is a Soviet painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the Armenian SSR (1967), and full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1973). He graduated from the Yerevan Art Institute (1945–1951) under A. Bekaryan and E. Isabekyan. He is known for genre and landscape paintings, as well as dramatic graphic series. Notable works include 'Happy Road' (1952), 'Bread in the Mountains' (1972), the series 'Dates from the History of My People' (1971), and illustrations for works by Kh. Abovyan and P. Sevak (USSR State Prize, 1969). He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and several medals.
