Yakovlev Vladimir Igorevich

Vladimir Igorevich Yakovlev was an artist and the grandson of landscape painter Mikhail Yakovlev. After moving to Moscow in 1944, he attended the studio of Vasily Sitnikov. From 1945, he was repeatedly treated in psychiatric hospitals. He was part of a circle of Moscow artists and poets, associating with Mikhail Grobman, Anatoly Zverev, Gennady Aigi, and Andrei Volkonsky. After 1983, he lived permanently in a neuropsychiatric dispensary, where he became almost completely blind.
