Vasiliev Timofey Alekseevich

1783 — 1838
Timofey Alekseevich Vasiliev (1783–1838) was a landscape painter. From 1788 to 1802, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts under G. F. Doyen, F. Ya. Alekseev, and G. I. Ugryumov. In 1802, he was awarded a small gold medal for the painting "Jupiter Punishes the Inhabitants of a Village, Except Philemon and Baucis," and in 1803, he received a first-degree certificate for the title of class artist. From 1805 to 1806, he participated in Count Yu. A. Golovkin's expedition to Siberia and Transbaikalia. He became an Academician in 1807 (for the painting "View of the City of Selenginsk") and an advisor to the Academy of Arts in 1815.
