Sudeikin Sergey Yuryevich
1882 — 1946
Sergey Yuryevich Sudeikin was a painter, graphic artist, and set designer. He worked in landscape and still life genres, creating symbolic-allegorical compositions, "gallant scenes," and depictions of folk festivals; he also engaged in monumental painting, as well as book and magazine illustration. From 1897 to 1909, he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under A. E. Arkhipov, A. M. Vasnetsov, and K. A. Korovin, and from 1909 to 1912 at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under D. N. Kardovsky. He was a member of the "Blue Rose," "World of Art," "Free Aesthetics," and the Union of Russian Artists. He collaborated with directors S. I. Mamontov and V. E. Meyerhold, and designed productions for the Maly Opera Theatre and A. Tairov's Chamber Theatre.
