Shevandronova Irina Vasilyevna

1928 — 1993
Irina Vasilyevna Shevandronova was an Honored Artist of Russia. She studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School and the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. Her diploma work, 'Children in the Village Library' (1953), became a landmark piece of Soviet genre painting and was featured in 'Rodnaya Rech' textbooks for decades. The theme of childhood became central to her work. Other notable paintings include 'Paths of Youth' (1970) and 'The Young' (1974). She participated in exhibitions starting in 1951. Her works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and other collections.
