Samsonov Marat Ivanovich

Marat Ivanovich Samsonov was a painter, graphic artist, and People's Artist of the RSFSR. From 1946, he worked at the M. B. Grekov Studio of Military Artists. He was awarded the M. B. Grekov Gold Medal for the reconstruction of the 'Battle of Borodino' panorama and the Silver Medal of the USSR Academy of Arts. He was an author and co-author of several significant panoramas and dioramas dedicated to military history, including 'The Defeat of Nazi Troops at Stalingrad' and 'The Storming of the Ochakov Fortress'.
