Ryazhsky Georgy Georgievich

1895 — 1952
Georgy Georgievich Ryazhsky (1895–1952) was a Russian painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, and a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AKhRR). He studied at the State Free Art Studios in Moscow and taught at Vkhutein and the Surikov Moscow Art Institute (becoming a professor in 1940). He gained wide recognition for his paintings The Delegate (1927) and The Chairwoman (1928), for which he was awarded a grand medal at the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris.
