Roginsky Mikhail Alexandrovich

Mikhail Alexandrovich Roginsky (1931–2004) was an artist and a representative of Moscow nonconformism. He graduated from the scenography department of the 1905 Memorial Art College. He taught at the Moscow City Art School. In 1978, he emigrated to France. In his work, Roginsky reinterpreted the Soviet daily life of the 1960s and 1970s, transforming everyday objects—bread, doors, primus stoves—into objects of aesthetic inquiry. His works became a unique testimony of the era, free from ideological speculation.
