Pimonenko Nikolai Kornilievich

1862 — 1912
Nikolai Kornilievich Pimonenko (1862–1912) was a painter and educator, known as a master of genre paintings depicting the life of the Ukrainian people. He studied at the Kiev Drawing School under N. I. Murashko and at the Imperial Academy of Arts. He taught at the Kiev Drawing School and the Kiev Art School. He became an Academician of the Academy of Arts in 1904. He was a member of the Peredvizhniki (Society for Traveling Art Exhibitions) and the Munich Artists' Association. In 1909, he was awarded an 'Honorable Mention' for his painting 'Hopak,' which was acquired by the Louvre.
