Petrov Nikolai Filippovich

Nikolai Filippovich Petrov was a painter and watercolorist known for his genre paintings, landscapes, and still lifes. From 1892 to 1901, he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under I. E. Repin. From 1936 to 1941, he directed a painting studio at the I. E. Repin Leningrad Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (All-Russian Academy of Arts) and headed the painting department. In 1909, he was awarded a gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Munich.
