Pavlov Ivan Nikolayevich

Ivan Nikolayevich Pavlov was a graphic artist, Soviet engraver, People's Artist of the RSFSR, and full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. He studied at the Baron Stieglitz Central School of Technical Drawing under V. V. Maté. He taught at the Stroganov School (1907–1914) and Vkhutemas (from 1924). He worked in linocut and woodcut techniques, creating architectural and lyrical landscapes. He contributed to the magazines 'Sever', 'Rodina', and 'Zvezda'. He was a laureate of the USSR State Prize (1943) and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour.
