Osmerkin Alexander Alexandrovich

Alexander Alexandrovich Osmerkin was a master painter and theater artist. In 1910, he enrolled in the School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (class of N. Roerich), in 1911 in the Kiev Art School, and from 1913 studied at I. Mashkov's school. Starting in 1914, he participated in exhibitions of the 'Jack of Diamonds' group. He taught at Vkhutemas/Vkhutein, the I. E. Repin Institute, and the V. I. Surikov Moscow Art Institute. Osmerkin was a master of portrait, landscape, and still life, as well as an author of theoretical works on art education. He was awarded medals of the USSR.
