Myasoyedov Grigory Grigoryevich
1834 — 1911
Grigory Grigoryevich Myasoyedov (1834–1911) was a painter and master of historical and genre painting. From 1853 to 1862, he studied at the Academy of Arts under T. A. Neff and A. T. Markov. In 1862, he was awarded a large gold medal for his painting 'Grigory Otrepyev's Escape from the Inn at the Lithuanian Border'. From 1863 to 1868, he was a scholarship holder of the Academy of Arts in Europe. He became an Academician in 1870 and a full member of the Academy of Arts in 1893. He was one of the initiators and a founding member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (Peredvizhniki).
