Krasnopevtsev Dmitry Mikhailovich
1925 — 1995
Dmitry Mikhailovich Krasnopevtsev (1925–1995) was a Russian artist and a representative of 'unofficial' art. He graduated from the V. I. Surikov Art Institute (1955) as a student of M. A. Dobrov. From 1976, he was a member of the Moscow United Committee of Graphic Artists, and from 1982, a member of the USSR Union of Artists. He was a participant in the Second Russian Avant-Garde. In the late 1950s and 1960s, he developed his unique style of 'metaphysical still life', filled with symbols of transience. In 1993, he became the first recipient of the 'Triumph' award.
